SPLA Plamo Division is proud to present our first ever HGUC Challenge:
May’n Asia: Going? & Ani-culture.net?
Well a few of us is going and we even got our-self an interview with May’n!!! But the coverage is going to be on Ani-culture.net, a new site by me and few SP LifeArts Alumni.
But do you have a question for May’n? We can ask them for you!
Just twitter us the question! @tueac, and @ani_culture or email the questions to me@tueac.com
Now about Ani-culture.net, it’s a new place that me and afew alumni setup to not interfer and use the Club’s name in events since we are afterall alumni.
In fact, gradually most of the anime related news and etc by us, will be posted over there, and me moving on to Ani-culture.net. This site will be ran fully by the next incoming committee. Don’t worry, I’ll still be here technically, since I’m hosting this site…
This is also partially due to an unspoken rule that alumni should not interfere with the club’s way of life. And I think I have sort of over done it for some time… So when the next committee is chosen, this site’s admin power and rights will be transferred to the president and PR. I’ll will retire from SPLifearts.com, for real. Let hope they will do a good job of running or even redesigning the site. Lets look forward to the change!
To dear partners, please continue to support SP LifeArts in everyway you can, Please!
Regards,
Tuea Chun Kah

Summer Wars: Distance But Close ^_^

Today, “Summer Wars”, an animated feature by director Mamoru Hosoda opens in the cinema and I have the chance to take a first look at the film, the overall review for me a 5 Star.
Summer Wars, the film is something that can be quite distance, in term of experience. Since we certainly don’t have a system like OZ… Or a very rich or influential person as grand-parents.
Nor have there been a public utilities system that is so controlled using the social networking software. Not to say, the use of an universal translator that don’t suck… It just seem so futuristic, for now.
So what makes this film so good that it can do almost a clean sweep at thhe Tokyo Anime Festival?

EOY10 Confirmed! Bigger and better?

In a very impressive, emotional, and long mail to all in the mailing list. Tim Wong, the organiser of the EOY 09 gave a rough performances report of EOY09, a little preview of what is going to happen and a Big thank you to all who attended the EOY09.
He even extended the invitation to all to EOY10 although the venue for EOY10 have not been found. But be glad, it’s most likely confirmed.

Interview with Troy Chin
Just in yesterday, from the folks at Aspiring Mangaka Club. Is an interview with Troy Chin, the artist and aurthor of Resident Tourist, and the daliy comics strip, Loti.
In the short interview he was asked about why he choosed to do comics as a mode of expression, along with his plans for the future.
What I really like about this interview is the following words of wisdom, which I would like to present to you. Quote Troy on Comics drawing.
Because it truly tests whether you love it on a daily basis, not like some throw-away, instant gratification that seem to exist in abundance today.
So true, maybe that is why I will never become a mangaka… O-0 Since I lack patience… But for those aspiring mangaka, be sure to read this interview!
