Update: Those who wants to practice a bit for Street fighter 4 before the competition next month, well TKA world have already brought it in, available at 4 of their outlets, in Bugis, Kallang, Suntec, and PS.

Street Fighter IV
So what has Street Fighter 4(SF4) got to do with the Anime Festival… Simple, a new zone have been found, inside the 5000sqm hall. It’s the Areana Zone!
And Singapore’s first game(Fighting) arcade game based competition, or the Singapore Arcade Showdown is going to be held there!
Tekken 6
Yup SF4, the newest one in the series currently on found in Japan, is going to be one of the competition game! Of cause other then SF4, there will be 2 other games, Tekken 6 and King Of Fighter

Yes! the classic of the series!
The competitions will be in three stages!
The Group Matches – First stage to weed out the not soo good.
The PlayOffs – The second stage, where the better players from each group fights.
The Final! – One Vs One on the Main Stage(Anime Live, Center Stage)!

Each contestant needs to pay registration fee on top of admission fee to AFA08 ($5 for one-day pass, $8 for two-day pass):
- $5 for participation in any one of the games above
- $8 for participation in any two of the games above
- $10 for participation in all three of the games aboveEach contestant needs to register online at AFA 2008 website, www.afa08.com (registration starts in November 2008)
How exactly? Hmm… lets wait for more information together!

The Singapore Arcade Showdown is conceptualised and organised by Singapore Cybersports & Online Gaming Association (SCOGA) and Arcade machines by TKA World
Huh? What’s the other announcement?
Well an extension or an area have been set as the Astist Booth area! And Singapore artist can apply for it to sell their art works and production. More details will be confirmed later but here are some of the terms for applying, straight from the information sheet!
Terms and Conditions for application of Artist Alley Space
1. Applicants must not be in the directory of Registered Entities under ACRA (Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority).
2. To apply for a space in the Artist Alley, applicants need to provide the following:
• Name
• Proposed Fan-based Display and Sales Items
• Contact NumberPlease send your details to contact@afa08.com
3. All applications should be submitted on or before 7th of November. Successful applicants will be notified by the 10th of November.
4. All applications will be screened, and the organizers reserve the rights to reject any applications. The organisers’ decision is final.
