AFA09: Weiβ Schwarz anyone?

Courtesy of Bushiroad and their local partner, Genesis Frontier, they have brought more content to the AFA09. Bring with them exactly is the Weiβ Schwarz Grand Prix, with the winner winning the chance of representing Singapore to participate in the Japanese Grand Prix in December, this year.

Not only that, they also have a stage show to present, bringing us some dubbing action to maybe cure the addiction for more seiyuu action after K-On!’s presentation.

Read on?

On stage, brought to us is Takeshi voiced by The Mesh(aka )and Michi voiced by the lovely Kitta Izumi along with the President CEO of Bushiroad, Kidani.

They did 2 full episode of dubbing on stage, with even Kidani-san joining the fun on the second episode.

I would have write down some of the Q&A things but, unfortunately… I was called out half way. By the time I return, the Q&A is completed…

Still I get to enjoy the dubbing of the second episode and Kidani-san’s self professed non-professional dubbing, which he did very well. After the Q&A session.

Who did Kidani-san dubbed? Remember the Oyaji from episode 2 onwards? Yah him…

They also did something way interesting. They played Junken with everyone seated down in the audience. And in just three games, 90% of the audiences are defeated… Looks like The mesh really is a hardcore player!

The few lucky ones gets to bring home goodies like limited edition promo flag, a Haruhi Suzumiya Weiβ Schwarz Deck, a Nanoha Weiβ Schwarz deck and etc.

Huh? I mentioned that The Mesh is a hardcore player?

Yup he is, in fact both him and Kitta-san are Weiβ Schwarz  players. They have even took on some of the local grand prix participants. It is in fact very entertaining to watch them play.

Weiβ Schwarz’s stage event didn’t last very long… But Kidani-san did promise to return next year and even play around of Weiβ Schwarz  with everyone.

The other thing that is happening over at Bushiroad is at the corner next to the MMK Maid Cafe, where the Singapore Weiβ Schwarz grand prix, with Saturday being something like the qualifying rounds for those who still do not have enough points to participate on Sunday’s top 16 match ups.

Both days a very prominent member of the club is involved,  the Hong Kong Triad Boss, Nick! He managed to play thru on both days, having fun.

On Saturday, he got the second place, losing only on the final round and final match… Maybe it’s NANA… XD… Still he had managed to get a placing in the final 16, to compete for a chance to go participate in the Japanese Grand Prix.

Did Nick win on Sunday? Yes! It’s a close one, the last matchup was tense, but he made it! Congratulations!

So what is Weiβ Schwarz ?

It is a card game, based on the characters of various animes like Fate Stay Night, Lucky Star, Idol Master and etc.  Each deck is from 1 particular anime, making it also a very good collectible item for fans.

The game play mechanics are not difficult, but there can be many ways of playing it, since this game have a very high reliance on luck and the deck building skill of the player.

*Note: I say luck right? Look at who won in the Junken…*

I, myself am not a player of the card game, but the rules of the game are simple to understand. Who ever reached level 4 first, lost, simple as that. But if you ask me to teach you how to… I can’t…

*Note: Opps… I showed how noob I was… Nevermind it was corrected.*

So, for more information on how to play the game you really visit The Card Geeks at Sunshine or http://ws.nk-ds.org/

Lastly to end it off… Another picture of Kitta Izumi!
