
Here are the basic details about the modeling course that we will be conducting.
What is the course about?
In the basic course, you will learn the following skills:
Cutting the part away from the “runner”
Removal of the nib
Sanding
Cementing
Priming
Painting with an airbrush
Masking
Emunaneling
Decaling
Application of decals
How much is the course?
The basic course fee is $45 and the beginner airbrush is $40. You will also need to get your own set of tools (art knife, cutters, cement, satay sticks, blu tack) and a new model kit.
How long is the basic course?
Well, it really depends on your detemination, your ability to master the skills and the model kit. Usually, it can take from two months to a semester to complete your first model kit. But, some people may be able to complete the course by June.
The lessons are catered to each individual, so its a case by case basis.
What stuff does the basic course fee cover?
It covers six bottles of Mr Colour paint, One bottle of Mr surfacer primer, Thinner, Gunmetal paint, various finishes, use of compressor, emaunel paints for panel lines, use of softner, sandpaper.
How do I get my tools?
We will be conducting a field trip to Sunshine plaza next wednesday 14 may, where you get some of your tools and at the same time, visit some great model stores. ( Of course, the anime shop is right opposite too…)
What happens after I complete the basic course?
Well, that’s really up to you to decide! There are many advanced techniques that you can choose to learn such as shading and diorama work!
Where and when are classes conducted?
Classes are conducted on wednesdays and saturdays. Wednesday classes are from 3.15 pm to 5.30 pm while saturday classes are from 10.00 am until we feel like going home…
There are two locations where we might conduct lessons- studenthub@Moberly and T15. Moberly is for dry weather and T15 is our backup in the event of rain.
